Balestrini, since 1954.

1954
Renzo Balestrini
, a mechanical designer, sets up his own company for the “construction and repair of special machinery for the elaboration of wood”.
And it is exactly the land where he was born, Milanese Brianza, where making highly-valuable furniture is a tradition, that encourages him to undertake this activity.

1959
During the MILAN TRADE FAIR (FIERA CAMPIONARIA DI MILANO) was presented the first tenoning machine in the world which is able to produce horizontal, vertical and many other compound angled round tenons. Balestrini is the first company to launch two alternating-motion work-rest benches that work automatically.
This machine, as well as all the imitations that followed, will permanently change the way chairs are produced.

1960
Balestrini machines are already exported to Spain, France, Belgium, Venezuela and Argentina. Export rapidly reaches over 50% of the sales.

1970
In the 1970's, the three Balestrini sons and daughter, Elio, Antonio e Rosalinda, who also have an individual specialization career (commercial, technical and administrative), start working for the company, providing it with an important growing impulse.
Export has already reached the five Continents: from Australia to Japan and Taiwan, from South Africa to the Middle East, and from Brazil to the U.S.A.

1980
Introduction of electronics into the automation features of Balestrini machines, and presentation of the first N/C (numerical control) machines: a rounding, two-headed tenoning machine, and a double four-headed milling machine.
Sales strategies are organized through distributors who, in addition to publicizing the products, are generally able to provide assistance as well.

1990
Realization of the first 5-axis N/C machining centers.
Balestrini staff is now expert in the mechanical, hydraulic, electronic and software-application areas.

2000
The new millennium is a witness of how Balestrini is expanding its activities from the chair and table specialization sector to other sectors, such as those within the elaboration of sporting devices, automobile components, various fittings, etc.
